New Executives Commit to Tailored, End-to-End Network Solutions for SMEs in the Region
North Ryde, August 17, 2009 – 3D Networks, Australia’s leading integrator of voice, data and contact centre solutions, today announced two new key appointments to its senior executive team in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ): Rod Taylor, Chief Executive Officer, and Eduardo Piriz, National Sales Director.
Rod Taylor, CEO, ANZ A highly experienced regional executive with specific focus in telecommunications and Information Technology (IT) across Asia, Taylor will be responsible for setting the agenda, strategy, priorities and focus for 3D Networks moving forward. Taylor has demonstrated knowledge of business benefits required by customers who utilise telecommunications infrastructure, design and implementation together with an outsourced model of operation.
His formula and platform for success is based on 3D Networks providing solutions wrapped and customised to specific customer business operations. He will ensure he and his staff engage with their customers in a consultative and value-added manner.
"The way we engage with the customer is my primary focus at 3D Networks. The fundamental change we are going to make is that we become a purveyor of network solutions that fit a particular customer need," Taylor said. "I want to make sure we get this right so that we become an agnostic, trusted advisor. Too often, systems integrators lead with a product. We will still have strategic alignment to those people that manufacture those solutions such as Nortel, Cisco, Juniper, Mitel and Microsoft, but it is core that we spend a lot of time understanding, combining and tailoring solutions specific to any one customer need."
"What is absolutely mandatory for 3D Networks is we get closer to our customer, both pre- and post- sales. Customers today are asking us to deliver even more strategic value-add to their operations; not just in the value add that’s profitable for the provider, but what compliments the customer’s true business needs," Taylor added. "This will ensure 3D Networks will continue to be Australia’s leading provider of Unified Messaging solutions and grow to become a trusted advisor across technologies and applications."
Taylor has more than 25 years of experience building sales and business support teams throughout Asia and has a proven track record delivering results and above target performance. Most recently, Taylor comes to 3D Networks from Agilent Technologies where he ran Asia-Pacific operations. His specialties were gained also through his various roles at Hewlett-Packard, Hitachi, Logical Networks, Macquarie Telecom and EMC.
Eduardo Piriz, National Sales Director, ANZ Reporting directly to Taylor at 3D Networks, Piriz has been tasked with building a passionate national sales team able to sell at the C-level and who can deliver solutions to the ANZ market that meet customers’ end-to-end network requirements.
"Rather than selling just a specific box or device to a client, my strategy has always been to understand the clients' needs and challenges first; then work together with them to build a customized end-to-end solution," Piriz said.
"One of my key objectives for customers in the ANZ region is to think globally and act locally. 3D Networks represents a great opportunity for me to execute positive change – to bring the company forward and take it to the next level," Piriz said. "As part of the larger team within Planet One (parent company), I want to emphasize we will leverage the parent companies' regional footprint to grow 3D Networks revenue and support in other Asia-Pacific countries such as Malaysia, Singapore and China."
Piriz plans to target small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) under 500 seats, with particular focus on vertical markets including healthcare, hospitality and education. "Our customers are very loyal to us in this space and we intend to focus on fostering the relationships and delivering value to our impressive install-base," Piriz said.
3D Networks can deliver an application's true value all the way down to the patient or end-user level. For example, in a state-of-the-art health care scenario, patient records, doctors notes, prescriptions and referrals can all being delivered real-time to PDAs and Unified Messaging services of all responsible parties for that patient's care.
Piriz comes to 3D Networks from NCR where he spent the last 12 months with the specific responsibility of building and fostering NCRs relationship with Cisco. He is credited for developing Cisco solutions for NCR Spain and grew Cisco-related revenue there to over $16 million Euros. Before his assignment in Spain, Piriz spent over seven years managing NCR in the Asia-Pacific region and also served more than a decade working for Wang Australia.
Other Important Appointments to the 3D Networks Management Team As part of this announcement, 3D Networks is also proud to appoint Kathryn Power as the company's Strategic Solutions Partner Manager. Power is in charge of developing and nurturing relationships with 3D Networks' key vendors including Nortel, Cisco, Juniper, Microsoft and Mitel. Power comes to 3D Networks from Unisys Australia where she managed the partner relationship with EMC for five years across the Asia-Pacific region.
In addition, Andrew Park has been appointed as National Professional Services Director at 3D Networks reporting directly to Taylor. In this role, Park will be leading the business solutions consulting division focusing on application consulting, unified communications, and data and security consulting services. Park comes to 3D Networks from Software AG Australia where he was the Professional Services Director for over three years and managed across the Asia-Pacific and Japan region.
